We set our wedding date for December 18, 2012 and everything else started to fall into place. Our engagement was fairly short - 3 1/2 months. I was very grateful for this because there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to spend eternity with Jordan. Waiting would just be postponing the inevitable. Jordan felt the same. In reality, the only reason our engagement was 3 1/2 months was to give ourselves and our families enough time to plan for the wedding (I'm sure they would have liked a little more time to plan).

Nonetheless, we got everything done in time. We took engagement photos, sent out invitations, and I got a dress! Jordan and I didn't have to do very much to help with the wedding thanks to family and friends. There wasn't much that we could do because we were both working and going to school.

December came and before I knew it, it was our wedding day!!! Early that morning I got my hair and make-up done and then we were off to San Diego! The day went by without any kinks. Seriously, it was perfect.
The temple was beautiful inside and out. I couldn't think of a more perfect place to be married to my best friend, and to have that same place be a House of the Lord. Jordan and I felt joy and peace throughout our time in the temple. Our joy was surmounted when we knew that we would be married for time and all eternity. Our marriage wouldn't end at death; we would be sealed together forever.
When we walked out of the temple, it was raining!!! Thankfully, we had previously taken some photos on a nice sunny day. I was so excited to see lots of friends and family waiting for us outside of the temple. Every one was smiling. It meant so much to me and Jordan to have people in our lives who love us and care about us. Some of them travelled very far just to see us on our wedding day.

We had a nice relaxing luncheon with close friends and family. Delicious food, smooth music, speeches from my brother and Jordan's brother, and last of all, LOTS of marriage advice. Everyone wrote on a notecard some marriage advice. People who were friends with Jordan wrote a note to me about how to live/cope/get along with Jordan and vice-versa. It was a lot of fun and I got to hear new stories about Jordan.
After the luncheon we had our reception. It was a beautiful place near a small lake. The inside was warm and inviting. We greeted our guests, cut our cake, and ended with dancing. Mine and Jordan's first dance was to "Then" by Brad Paisley because it was the same song Jordan sang to me when he proposed. To be honest, most of the day was a blur. I was just happy to be Mrs. Brassell! Everything that day happened so fast, but I remember the happiness I felt like it was yesterday.

Aww, I love your blog, Kristen! I always think about you guys when I here that song!
