Before I tell you about Labor Day, there were a few other notable events that occurred recently. First of all, Elder David A Bednar came and spoke at BYU for Education Week. His talk was so good!!! It gave me a totally new perspective on technology. If you haven't read it or watched it yet, DO IT!!! Here's the link:

This is a picture I took at the devotional. We got pretty good seats considering we were only there ten minutes early.
This is so dumb, but I made these apple dumplings that turned out to be soooooo good! I've made them a few times now. Here's a recipe if you want a good dessert:
The Thursday before Labor Day weekend was my last day at work ever! It was really sad but kind of exciting at the same time. I wouldn't be able to work at the Purchasing Office while doing student teaching, so I had to quit. A few people from the office made cookies and my supervisor made this cute little sign. She also wrote me a super sweet note. I am really going to miss working with her. I'll explain why I wasn't able to work that Friday in the next section....
When Jordan and I went to California at the beginning of August, I went to my dentist for a check up. I knew I probably had a cavity and so I requested to have extra time during my appointment to get it taken care of. My regular dentist was going to be out of town, but they said that they would have another dentist working there that day. Sounds like everything worked out, right? Wrong. When I went to the dentist's office, there was no dentist. They said they would contact me in a couple weeks when my dentist got back in town and could look at my x-rays. I stared blankly at the lady for a few seconds and said, "well, that was kind of the whole point I was here. I live in Utah and I won't be back in California until Christmas." The lady told me that everything would be fine and that I could just come back during Christmas break.
Well... I was informed about a week ago that I did in fact have two cavities and that one was pretty bad. My dentist recommended that I should come and see him as soon as possible. Really people? ha ha I guess I can laugh about it now, but boy, I was pretty frustrated. My parents found me a flight home. So I would fly home early Friday morning, and then fly back to Utah Saturday afternoon.
This is when Jordan dropped me off at the airport early Friday morning. It was okay, but it was sad because Friday night was going to be the first night we had ever spent apart! Luckily the weekend went by quickly.
I took this right after my dentist appointment. You can't really tell, but half of my face is numb. It looked pretty funny when I was talking (by the way, I've never had a numb tongue from the dentist. it was weird!).
Later that day I swam in the pool with my family and I caught a baby frog!
Okay, this isn't the best picture in the world, but Jordan and I Skyped before we went to bed Friday night. Thank goodness for technology!
Saturday came quickly and before I knew it, I was on a plane headed back home to Utah. Jordan had a sweet surprise for me when he picked me up...
He picked all of these flowers himself! They were gorgeous!!!
We didn't do much else on Saturday and Sunday, but we went to a rope swing on Labor Day. It was a lot of fun. We even met up with Shaylee and Kevin there. These are Jordan's swings into the pond....
I'll admit, I was a little scared on that one. lol
Jordan, Shaylee, and Kevin
Shaylee's swing. She was much braver than I was.
My brave man. I could not swing from up there.
Instead, I swung from the kiddie swing. But I did it! My family would be proud. ;)

This is why we are in the same family! ;) I love the picture of Jordan, Shay and Kevin- good photography skills! That is so cute about those sunflowers...you two. It is so weird spending a night apart, isn't it? You guys need to come visit some time!
