Friday morning took us to a local tourist site called Queen's Bath. And by that I mean it was right down the road from our resort. You have to hike down to the "bath" but the hike was filled with gorgeous scenery as well.
We realized that Kauai is filled with tons of waterfalls. Just beautiful.
I love my parents. They are so cute!
This picture reminds me of how difficult it was to capture this picture. We had to step from rock to rock to rock to rock to get there. Sometimes that pregnant belly makes things a tad more difficult. And I laugh thinking about Jordan and James trying to help me to make sure I wouldn't fall over. Such sweeties.
So Queen's Bath has multiple areas like this so my family explored most of them. I decided to retreat to the car once it started raining, but I took some pictures and then my family took more as they explored.
James always tried to act like he was "not impressed." lol
I love this picture of my mom. It captures just about everything I love about my mom. :)
Starring: Jordan as the Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Those waves were seriously ginormous if you couldn't tell. Every day in Kauai meant that we saw more spectacular moments in nature.
After Queen's Bath, we went home, ate lunch, and got spiffied up for the luau!!! Jordan got me a flower that matched my shirt. I tell you, that man of mine is the most thoughtful person on the planet.
Before we got into eating, we went on a riverboat tour to the Fern Grotto. To be honest, I think this was the only boat on the whole island I was allowed to go on. Something to do with me being very pregnant or whatever. lol
We got off the boat and took a beautiful stroll to the Fern Grotto. I'll never forget that when I stopped to use the restroom there, a woman in the bathroom looked at me and wished me a Happy Mother's Day. I had almost forgotten that Mother's Day was in two days and that it would be my first Mother's Day as a mom!
James became our photographer of all the flora.
THIS is the Fern Grotto:
Our tour guides told us the history of this place and told us that thousands of weddings used to be performed here. Then they all whipped out their guitars and ukuleles and sang a beautiful song about love while two of the women performed a hula.
We were such tourists, taking pictures EVERYWHERE. But we couldn't help it. EVERYWHERE was so breathtaking! And it's partly because everywhere we went we felt like we were in Jurassic Park.
Once the riverboat tour was over we walked over to the luau. It was at the Smith's Family Farm and we had lots of time to spare, so we walked around to check out all of the plants and animals.
Jordan was so sweet and made sure to take plenty of pictures of me and my belly.
I promise we are mature enough to be parents...
Ok guys, this duck was enormous! Like, it was on steroids or something. And it may or may not have scared me a little...
When you're in Hawaii, you can count on having a legit luau. We got to watch them pull the pig out of the ground and then we got to eat it!!! All the food was so delicious, but that was a given. My stomach was content and I'm sure our future baby girl's tummy was content, too.
After dinner we got to go watch a Polynesian dance performance. They did dancing from just about every single Polynesian country. It was as spectacular as the PCC, but it was still amazing to watch these beautiful dancers.
One of the funniest things that happened that day happened when we got home for the night. As soon as we pulled in to the resort parking lot, it started pouring. We were pretty dang wet by the time we got inside, even if you can't tell from the pictures. ;)
