As Jordan gets closer to finishing classes, he gets the opportunity to work in the clinic at his school. This means that he gets to work as a student doctor. So even though this is just the end of his second year of school, they have this white coat ceremony so that students are ready to work with patients.
I can't even begin to explain how proud I am of Jordan. Seeing him wear that white coat just made everything (all the hard work, studying, etc.) worth it and picturing him as a doctor just felt so real! I always knew he would be a great doctor, and I know this sounds so silly, but he looked so grown up! haha We've been students for so long, but the white coat makes me feel like we're moving on to the next step in our lives. Maria had a hard time sitting still (surprise, surprise) but she made it!
The ceremony was held in a building at Temple University's main campus. It was a beautiful building and a wonderful ceremony.
This is it! Jordan getting his white coat. :)
I'm also so grateful Jordan has made so many great friends in his class. And even more grateful Jordan's mom got to be here for the white coat ceremony! I think that was very special for Jordan and made the whole event feel more important.
Maria wasn't thrilled about taking pictures after having to sit still for so long, but at least the rest of us look happy!
We also took Jordan's mom down to Penn's landing to check out the waterfront.
They have some cool ships there, but of course Maria is always the best exhibit.
It was so sweet seeing Maria get some time with her Grandma.
We had some fun times in those short few days, including lunch at Reading Terminal Market on Roberta's last day with us. We had to drop her off after lunch and Maria was sooooo sad when we drove away without Grandma in the car. It was so cute and so sad at the same time. I'm sure Maria is looking forward to the next time she gets to snuggle with Grandma. :)
