Adventure #56: Temple Trip and Snowmaggedon

"The blessings of the temple are priceless." - Thomas S. Monson

January 16-24, 2016

Thanks to my church calling, I had the opportunity to go on a temple trip with the young women. We drove down to Washington, D.C. early in the morning. The only good part about starting so early was seeing the sunrise while crossing the Susquehanna River.

I had never been to the D.C. Temple. It was so big and it was absolutely beautiful. I could understand why this is Jordan's favorite temple.

The young women tried to take a photo of me in front of the temple, but forgot the temple. haha This is the best one. I was a little sad about going to the temple without Jordan, but it was a great experience seeing the youth perform baptisms for the dead.

The following weekend was what everyone called "Snowmaggedon." lol I was a little worried about food because if the power went out, we would have no way to heat food. Everything in our apartment is electric! The storm wasn't too bad and we survived. These are the before and after pictures I took:

Winter had been kind to us until January came. Then it started to get very cold and very windy. We tried to make sure Maria stayed warm, but most winter accessories were a little too big for her. I took this next picture after we put her in the car. We didn't even realize the beanie had come down over her eyes (don't worry, it didn't cover her nose)! What was so funny about it was that Maria didn't even seem to care. I think she knew it would keep her warm so she didn't complain. lol
