Adventure #57: Maria's Skin

"Patience is not the ability to wait, but how you act while you're waiting." - Joyce Meyer

*The quote from above is all about Maria. I was not very good about being patient, but Maria taught me by her example.

January/February 2016

On the weekend of the snow storm Maria broke out with a terrible rash all over her back and tummy. It then spread to her arms, legs, and face (which is where it got the worst). I felt so awful that I didn't know how to take care of it. Our pediatrician's best guess was a form of eczema, but they weren't sure. The rash lasted the rest of winter, but this little girl was a trooper through it all.

Her poor face got so dry and cracked any time we had to go outside.  :(

We were finally able to see a dermatologist and they gave us some medicated ointment, oil, and lotion. They said if it worked, then it is eczema. If it didn't work, then we would have to come back and do some tests. Luckily it all worked out and her skin got better and better over time. It was also during this craziness that Maria started sleeping about 12 hours per night!
